A HORA DA CHUVA SECA

Installation

[earth, nylon thread and 'sections' of a photograph in acrylic cubes]

dimensions variable

2012

A photograph of the Serra do Gandarela National Park is appropriated from the Internet, printed out, and cut into sections that are encased in acrylic cubes and hang suspended above soil that has been brought from this nature reserve and scattered upon the gallery floor, soil from which Serra do Gandarela’s vegetation once grew. Visitors are allowed to grab the acrylic cubes and take with them out of the gallery space, deconstructing the installation and this natural landscape’s integrity one step further.
