‘Meio’ is a Portuguese word that holds three different meanings: the area one belongs to, environment, and medium.

Living in urban areas can lead us to disregard the fact that cities are not autonomous entities. On the contrary, essentially, cities are built from and depend on natural resources.

Meio brings together household objects and  natural landscapes, in this particular case at the Serra do Gandarela  which has been threatened by a mining project. This work mediates this communion between nature and our everyday life, making them belong to each other again.
